Further to last posting

Elizabeth,

I grew up in the village of Chalford in the Cotswolds. Chalford Hill and Chalford Valley were connected by two main paths: Marle Hill (shown above and in the post with the Browning poem) and Jacob's Ladder upon which you see the donkey delivering bread. This service was discontinued at about the time I left (1957). I walked Marle Hill to and from school every day and occasionally detoured a short distance to drink from the spring in the previous picture.

The Cotswolds?! I've long dreamed of visiting there. When's the last time you were there? Have you introduced Driftwood to the area?
