Perspective

The little cabin on the left covers the spring supplying us with water. Last Tuesday construction of a new house and well-drilling on the hill above us turned the normally limpid stream that comes through our taps into red mud. The situation gradually improved but for almost a week there was clean-up work and problems cooking, showering, dish-washing and doing laundry due to the unavailability of clean water. I was annoyed and impatient that we should be visited with such inconvenience.
We deserve better!
THEN I REMEMBERED.

In the developing world one child dies every eight seconds due to disease from improper water supply. This year 2.1 million people (the number of residents in Houston, TX) will die due to inadequate water supply and sanitation.

YEAH! POOR ME!
