Terry Fox Run






Sunday was the annual Terry Fox Run. Twenty-eight years after his death at age 22 he is still revered by Canadians and was recently chosen in a nation-wide poll to be number five of the ten greatest Canadians in history.


It is always wonderful to experience every September the enthusiasm with which thousands run and walk to honour his memory and raise funds for cancer research. But a poignant counterpoint are the boards on which passing participants write the names of those in whose memory they are running.

and what a tragic end to his life.
It's so horrible when young vibrant people with so much to live for are stricken
