Today is beautiful.
I do not share Margaret's melancholy. I regret the season's passage neither in the tree's life nor my own. Worlds of wanwood leafmeal are what we shed that will be used by others . . . as it should be.
I still love Hopkins' work but his sad ghost is evaporating in the late October sun.

Beautiful picture, lovely words! I envy the colors that you get in the autumn. In my part of the country, we don't often see much change, but it is lovely all the same.
