Elegant villan

Playing with one of the new Christmas toys (Netflix) we tried out a BBC television series that we had missed from almost two decades ago. "A House of Cards" is a biting satire of British politics and the Royal Family. The main protagonist is played by the noted Shakespearean actor Ian Richardson (sadly no longer with us). In this modern day Macbethian tale he creates one of the most elegant and chilling portraits of evil for whom I actually felt affection despite his Machiavellian and murderous ways.

I am unfamiliar with Netflix, and everything else electronic! But I am intrigued by the television series that you mention. I shall try to find a DVD or some such thing, as it sounds like something that I would enjoy.
