"Be fertile, increase in number, fill the earth, and be its master. Rule the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that crawl on the earth."

You lie upon the darkness
seemingly asleep
as a child
on a shadowed blanket

From this distance
it cannot be seen
that your dreams
are often forlorn

You are longing to give
receive
thrive
share
continue
bountiful
forever

But
did the one
who originally loved you
place you
for adoption by another?

Another
who was not
who is not
worthy of the trust?

What would you have me do?

Such a sense of pain and helplessness, so beautifully expressed. It stirred a range of emotion - anger, frustration and pain. Well done, my friend.
